Attractions

Historic "Bradley House"
This home built in 1913 and 1914 by George Radka, a local contractor who died shortly after completion.  It was then sold to the Michigan Limestone and Chemical Co. and it became the home of Carl D. Bradley, the General Manager.  It became the home of the Presque Isle County Historical Museum in 1981.

Forty Mile Point Lighthouse
Just 7 miles north on US 23, the park is open to the public year round but the Lighthouse and Pilot House opens for tours Memorial Day Weekend.

Harbor View
Here you can get a close-up view of the huge freighters as they load limestone destined for ports all around the Great Lakes.  Located on the grounds of the world's largest limestone quarry on Calsite Rd just a couple of miles from the North Star Motel.

Knaebe's Mmmunchy Krunchy Apple Farm
13 acres of apples, an eclectic old barn with homemade apple pies and crisp, caramel apples and doughnuts, just six miles from the back entrance of the motel.

Great Lakes Lore Maritime Museum
This museum offers an opportunity to learn about Great Lakes maritime commerce and the stories of the men and women whose vocation is connected to the industry.  Open mid-May until mid-October from 10 am - 4 pm Monday through Saturday and Sunday from noon until 4 pm.
